DEFINITION:

The transmission does not stay in gear while the vehicle is moving.

1. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
2. Disassemble the transmission. Refer to Transmission Disassemble (NV4500) .
3. Look for the following conditions:

3.1.	Gearshift components are worn or damaged

3.2.	Transmission gear teeth are worn or tapered

3.3.	Synchronizer assemblies are worn or damaged

3.4.	Excess end play caused by worn thrust washers or worn output shaft gears

Replace all worn or damaged parts.
