Test Description

The following procedure diagnoses the "Unable to Configure the OnStar® System" message from the OnStar® Call Center.

  1. This step tests the configuration of the OnStar® system.

    2.

  2. This step tests for an open in the IGN SEN circuit.

    3.

  3. This step tests for a short to ground or an open in the ignition positive circuit.

Did you perform the OnStar® Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Activate the OnStar® Call Center button.
  3. Ask the OnStar® Call Center operator to configure the vehicle.
  4. Activate the Call End button.

Did the OnStar® Call Center operator say that the vehicle was configured?

Test the IGN SEN circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the ignition positive voltage circuit for an open or a short to ground . Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
