Accumulator Assembly, Spacer Plate, and Gaskets for GMC Truck Savana 2000

Removal Procedure
- Remove the control valve body. Refer to
Valve Body
.
- Remove the accumulator cover bolts.
- Remove the 1-2 accumulator cover, the pin, the piston, and the springs.
- Remove the 1-2 accumulator piston spring.
- Remove the 1-2 accumulator piston, and the oil seal ring.
- Remove the oil pass cover bolt.
- Remove the oil pass cover.
- Remove the spacer plate.
- Remove the spacer plate gaskets.
- Remove the 3-4 accumulator spring.
- Remove the piston oil seal ring.
- Remove the 3-4 accumulator piston, and the pin.
Installation Procedure
- Install the 3-4 accumulator pin into the transmission case.
- Install the 3-4 accumulator piston onto the pin. The piston legs must face the valve body.
- Install the 3-4 accumulator piston oil seal ring.
- Install the 3-4 accumulator piston spring.
- Install the
J 25025-B
to the transmission case.
- Install the case gasket and the valve body gasket to the spacer plate. The case
gasket is identified by a C. The valve body gasket is identified by a V.
- Use the
J 36850
in order to retain the gaskets to the spacer plate.
- Install the spacer plate and the gaskets to the transmission case.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the oil pass cover and the oil pass cover bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
- Install the 1-2 accumulator piston with the piston
legs facing toward the case.
- Install the oil seal ring to the accumulator cover.
- Install the 1-2 accumulator spring onto the piston.
- Install the 1-2 accumulator
cover and the cover bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
- Remove the
J 25025-B
from the transmission case.
- Install the control valve body. Refer to
Valve Body
.
Important: It is recommended that the transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.
Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, the ECM, PCM or TCM
will need to relearn the TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned,
