Catalytic Converter Replacement for GMC Truck TopKick C-Series (Conventional) C6/C7/C8 2004

1. Remove the exhaust manifold pipe. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Pipe Replacement .



2. Remove the nuts from the tail pipe to the muffler clamp and remove the clamp.
3. Remove the catalytic converter and muffler tail pipe.

1. Install the catalytic converter muffler to the tail pipe and on hangers.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




2. Install the tail pipe and clamp.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).

3. Install the exhaust manifold pipe. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Pipe Replacement .
4. Check for clearance and alignment.
