Removal Procedure
- Remove the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to 
Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement 
in Engine Controls-3.4L.
 
- Use a flat-bladed tool  in order to remove
the retaining clip from the automatic transaxle range selector    cable.
 
- Use a large flat-bladed  tool in order to
remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable from    the cable lever.
 
- Use pliers in order to depress the cable retainers.
 
- Remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable from the automatic
 transaxle range selector cable bracket.
 
- Remove the knee bolster. Refer to 
Knee Bolster Replacement 
 in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
 
- If the vehicle is equipped  with a console
shift, perform the following steps:
 
| 7.2.  | Remove the transaxle shift cable from the floor shift control. | 
 
- If the vehicle is equipped with a column
shift, perform the following  steps:
 
| 8.1.  | Remove the retaining clip from the automatic transaxle range selector
 cable. | 
 
| 8.2.  | Use a flat-bladed tool in order to remove the automatic transaxle  range
selector cable from the column control lever. | 
 
| 8.3.  | Remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable from the steering
 column bracket. | 
 
- Remove the automatic transaxle range selector
cable through the cowl.
 
Installation Procedure
- Properly route the automatic  transaxle
range selector cable through the engine compartment.
 
- Install the automatic transaxle range selector
cable through the cowl.
 
- If the vehicle is equipped with a column
shift, perform the following  steps:
 
| 3.1.  | Install the automatic transaxle range selector cable to the steering 
column bracket. | 
 
| 3.2.  | Install the retaining clip to the automatic transaxle range selector 
cable. | 
 
| 3.3.  | Install the automatic transaxle range selector cable to the column  control
lever. | 
 
- If the vehicle is equipped 
with a console shift, perform the following steps:
 
| 4.1.  | Install the transaxle shift cable to the floor shift control. | 
 
- Install the knee bolster. Refer to 
Knee Bolster Replacement 
 in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
 
- Install the automatic  transaxle range selector
cable to the automatic transaxle range selector cable    bracket.
 
- Install the automatic transaxle range selector cable to the automatic
 transaxle range selector lever.
 
- Install the retaining  clip to the automatic
transaxle range selector cable.
 
- Adjust the automatic transaxle range selector cable. Refer to 
Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment 
.
 
- Install the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to 
Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement 
 in  Engine Controls-3.4L.
