Tools Required

1. Remove the transaxle from the vehicle. Refer to Transmission Replacement for the Y4M manual transmission and Transmission Replacement for the Y4A manual transmission.
2. Support the engine to the normal position using EN46567  (1).

Caution: Refer to Clutch Dust Caution in the Preface section.




3. Remove the pressure plate and the clutch disc.

3.1.	Fix the fly wheel using 09924-17810  (2).

3.2.	Remove the pressure plate bolts (1).

3.3.	Remove the pressure plate and the clutch disc (3).




4. Remove the transaxle input shaft bearing using 09924-17810  (1), 09924-17810  (2), and a wrench.

1. Inspect the weak and damaged diaphragm spring (1).
2. Inspect the face that may be polluted by the oil or grease (2).

1. Measure the rivet head depth from the clutch disc surface and replace if the depth is below the limit.

Specifications

•	Rivet head depth for standard equals 1.2 mm (0.047 in).

•	Rivet head depth for limit equals 0.5 mm (0.02 in).

2. Replace the clutch disc if the clutch disc surface is contaminated or if the clutch disc rivets are loose.

Measure the runout in a rotational direction and replace if the runout exceeds the limit.

Specifications
The disc runout limit in a rotational direction equals 0.7 mm (0.028 in).

1. Install the input shaft bearing using 09925-98210  (2) and 09924-17810  (1) .



2. Install the clutch disc.
3. Install the pressure plate (4).
4. Align the pressure plate and the clutch disc onto the flywheel using DT 46551  (1) and 09924-17810  (3) .

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

5. Install the pressure plate bolts (2).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 18-28 N·m (13-21 lb ft).

6. Install the transaxle to the vehicle. Refer to Transmission Replacement for the Y4M manual transmission and Transmission Replacement for the Y4A manual transmission.
