Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the right door sill plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the right hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

    3. Object Number: 219971 Size: SH
  3. Remove both speaker covers.
  4. Remove the IP upper mounting screws.
  5. Remove the mounting bracket to IP screw.
  6. Remove the nut from the right door pillar stud.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the blower motor.
  8. Remove the courtesy lamp, if equipped.
  9. Remove the blower motor cooling tube.
  10. Remove the blower motor flange screws.
  11. Disengage the IP carrier bracket from the right door pillar stud and pry the instrument panel carrier rearward.
  12. Remove the blower motor. Carefully pull the blower motor forward in order to avoid damaging the blower fan.
  13. Inspect the blower motor terminals for distortion. Clean corrosion from the terminals or replace the blower motor as necessary.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 219967 Size: SH
  1. Install the blower motor. Guide the blower motor and the blower motor fan so that the blower motor fan does not get caught on protruding parts.
  2. Engage the IP carrier bracket to the right door pillar stud.

    3. Object Number: 219971 Size: SH
  3. Install the blower motor flange screws.
  4. Install the blower motor cooling tube.

    5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the bolt to the right lower instrument panel support.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the courtesy lamp, if equipped.
  7. Connect the electrical connectors to the blower motor.
  8. Install the nut to the right door pillar stud.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 3 N·m ( 27 lb in).

  9. Install the mounting bracket to IP screw.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  10. Install the IP upper mounting screws.

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  11. Install both speaker covers.
  12. Install the right hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  13. Install the front door sill plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement in Interior Trim.
