Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 403904 Size: SH
  1. Remove the cover plate.
  2. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) purge pipe (6) from the EVAP canister (5).
  3. Disconnect the EVAP vapor pipe (3) from the EVAP canister (5).
  4. Disconnect the EVAP vent pipes from the EVAP canister (5).

  5. Remove the bolts (2) from the canister hold down brackets (1, 3).
  6. Remove the canister.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 403904 Size: SH
  1. Install the canister (5).

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the hold down brackets (1, 3) and bolts (2) to the EVAP canister.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the EVAP canister bracket bolts (2) to 22.5 N·m (17 lb ft).

  3. Connect the EVAP vent pipes to the EVAP canister (5).
  4. Connect the EVAP vapor pipe (3) to the EVAP canister (5).
  5. Connect the EVAP vent pipes to the EVAP canister (5).
  6. Install the cover plate.
