Did you review the dome lamp description and operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Step 2

Go to Symptoms - Lighting Systems

1. Lower the driver's door window.
2. Place the I/P dimmer switch in the dome lamp OFF position.
3. Close all of the doors.

Is the dome lamp illuminated?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Disconnect the door jamb switch.

Does the dome lamp remain illuminated?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Disconnect the I/P lamps dimmer switch.

Does the dome lamp remain illuminated?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the door jamb switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 8

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the I/P lamps dimmer switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 9

Repair a short to ground in the dome lamp control circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing or Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 10

Replace the door jamb switch. Refer to Front Side Door Jamb Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 10

Replace the I/P lamps dimmer switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 10

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
