Transmission Fluid Temperature Gage Replacement Console Mounted

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 199769 Size: SH
  1. Remove the 4 screws from the transmission selector housing bezel.
  2. Remove the bezel from the housing.
  3. Disconnect the transmission temperature gage harness connector (3).
  4. Remove the transmission temperature gage nuts (5).
  5. Remove the transmission temperature gage clamp (4).
  6. Remove the transmission temperature gage (2) from the transmission selector housing.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 199769 Size: SH
  1. Install the transmission temperature gage (2) to the transmission selector housing.
  2. Install the transmission temperature gage clamp (4) over the gage studs.

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the transmission temperature gage nuts (5).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the transmission temperature gage nuts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  4. Connect the transmission temperature gage harness connector (3).
  5. Install the transmission selector housing bezel.
  6. Install the 4 transmission selector housing bezel retaining screws.

  1. Remove the center trim plate.

    2. Object Number: 339324 Size: SH
  2. Remove the transmission control bezel.
  3. Remove the 2 transmission temperature gage nuts.

    4. Object Number: 199796 Size: SH
  4. Remove the transmission temperature gage clamp (1).
  5. Remove the transmission temperature gage (2) from the instrument panel.
  6. Disconnect the harness connector from the transmission temperature gage.

Installation Procedure
  1. Connect the transmission temperature gage harness connector.

    2. Object Number: 199796 Size: SH
  2. Install the transmission temperature gage (2) to the instrument panel.
  3. Install the transmission temperature gage clamp (1).

    4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.   4. Install the 2 transmission temperature gage nuts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the 2 transmission temperature gage nuts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the center trim plate.
