Schematic Reference: Seat Belt Schematics

1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Disconnect the seat belt alarm.
3. Connect a fused jumper between terminals C2 and D2 at the seat belt alarm connector.
4. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the seat belt indicator illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 2

Test the fasten safety belt indicator control circuit between the seat belt alarm connector and the driver information center (DIC) - right for a short to ground, a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 3

Test the fasten seat belt indicator ground circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 4

Replace the DIC - right.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 6

Replace the seat belt alarm.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
