Apply the name plate in clean area. Ensure that no dust or dirt contacts the adhesive backing on the name plate. Dust or dirt on the adhesive backing may prevent proper adhesion.

1. Use one of the following solvents in order to clean the area where the replacement item will mount.

•	Flash naphtha

•	A mixture of 50 percent isopropyl/alcohol and 50 percent water

2. Dry the area thoroughly.
3. Ensure that the cab area and the name plate are between 26-40°C (80-105°F).
4. If the cab area and the name plate are too cold, take the following steps:

•	Carefully heat the cab area.

•	Apply heat to the back of the name plate.

5. Remove the protective liner from the emblem.
6. Line the name plate up to the locating holes in the hood.
7. Place foam between the clamp and the plate in order to protect the plate.
8. Clamp the name plate to the cab at the center of the plate.
