J 29843-9 Torx Door Striker-T47

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 208774  Size: SH

    Important:  Perform this procedure only when bolt-on service replacement hinges are installed.

  1. Remove the striker bolt (3). Use the J 29843-9 .
  2. Loosen the door hinge to the body side pillar bolts.
  3. Adjust the door up or down, fore and aft, and in or out at the door hinges.

  4. Object Number: 228649  Size: SH
  5. Adjust the gap between the rocker panel and the door 6 mm (0.24 in).
  6. Adjust the gap between the door and the roof panel 6 mm (0.24 in).

  7. Object Number: 228648  Size: SH
  8. Adjust the gap between the rear of the door and the rear pillar 3-5 mm (0.12-0.18 in).

  9. Object Number: 228649  Size: SH
  10. Adjust the gap between the door and the fender to 17.5-20.5 mm (0.69-0.81 in).
  11. Adjust the door surfaces flush with other panels -1 mm (-0.03 in).

  12. Object Number: 208781  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  13. Tighten the door hinge nuts.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the striker bolt (1).
  2. Adjust the striker bolt in order to engage the door lock.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Tighten the striker bolt.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
