Removal Procedure
- Remove the seats and seat belts. Refer to Seat Replacement in Seats.
- Remove the door sill trim plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement .
- Remove the engine access cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
- Remove the hinge pillar trim panels. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement .
- Remove the mat to floor retaining screws.
- Lift the mat off the tabs at the cowl and remove the mat (1) from the floor.
Installation Procedure
- Install the mat (1) to the floor with the screws.
- Lift the mat onto the tabs at the cowl. Bend the tabs back.
- Install the seats and the seat belts. Refer to Seat Replacement in Seats.
- Install the hinge pillar trim panels. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement .
- Install the engine access cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement
- Install the door sill trim plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement .
Caution: In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.
Caution: All floor pan insulator material must meet Federal Vehicle Safety Standards for flammability. Failure to do so could result in personal injury and/or vehicle damage.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
