Important: If removal of the transmission mount is required, transmission removal is NOT required. If removal of the transmission support is required, transmission removal MAY be required.

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle, if required. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2. Remove the transmission support nut.
3. Raise the transmission using a suitable transmission jack, just enough to allow removal of the mount.



4. Remove the transmission mount nuts (1) and washers.
5. Remove the transmission mount.
6. Remove the transmission mount bracket nuts (2) and washers, if required.
7. Remove the transmission mount bracket and bolts, if required.



8. If removal of the transmission support is required, remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
9. If equipped with a 6.6/7.2L engine and regular production options (RPOs) MK8/MK9, remove the transmission support bolts, if required.
10. Remove the transmission support, if required.



11. If equipped with RPOs MS9/MT3, remove the transmission nuts and washers, if required.
12. Remove the transmission support and spacers, if required.

1. Install the transmission support and spacers, if required.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. If equipped with RPOs MS9/MT3, install the transmission support washers and nuts, if required.

Tighten
Tighten the transmission nuts to 163 N·m (120 lb ft).




3. Install the transmission support, if required.
4. If equipped with a 6.6/7.2L engine and RPOs MK8/MK9, install the transmission support bolts, if required.

Tighten
Tighten the transmission support bolts to 195 N·m (144 lb ft).

5. If required, install the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement .



6. If required, install the transmission mount bracket and bolts.
7. If required, install the transmission mount bracket washers and nuts (2).

Tighten
Tighten the transmission mount bracket nuts to 71 N·m (52 lb ft).

8. Install the transmission mount.
9. Install the transmission mount washers and nuts (1).

Tighten
Tighten the transmission mount nuts to 46 N·m (34 lb ft).




10. Lower the transmission and remove the transmission jack.
11. Install the transmission support nut.

Tighten
Tighten the transmission support nut to 31 N·m (23 lb ft).

12. Lower the vehicle, if required.
