Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1204640  Size: SH
  1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  2. Disengage but do not remove the connector position assurance (CPA) on the connector.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector (2).

  4. Remove the screw.
  5. Remove the brake pedal position sensor.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1204637  Size: SH
  1. Apply adhesive GM P/N 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) to the screw.
  2. Position the sensor fork to the pin.
  3. Rotate the sensor in order to align the sensor locator to the hole in the extension bracket.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the brake pedal position sensor screw.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  7. Connect the electrical connector (2).
  8. Engage the CPA. The CPA will not engage if the connector is not attached properly.

  9. If a new sensor was installed, use the Tech II to run the Learn Home Procedure in BCM Special Functions.
  10. Install the I/P insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
