| Subject: | Water Drips on the Front Seat with the Door Open or Water Drips Down the
A-Pillar onto the Carpet with the Door Open (Seal Encapsulation and Drip Molding Joint)
Due to revisions in the affected model years, this bulletin supersedes bulletin 93-T-21,
which should be discarded. |
Condition
Customers mat comment of water dripping onto the front seat when the door opens
or down the A-pillar onto the carpeting with the door open.
Cause
Water leaking onto the front seat with the door open could be caused by water
dripping at the encapsulation and drip molding joint. Water leaking onto the carpeting
with the door open could be caused by water entering the windshield encapsulation,
outside of the urethane seal at the windshield, then running down the A-pillar onto
the carpeting when the door is opened.
Correction
For a water leak that drips water onto the front seat with the door open, seal
the molding joint from the top side. If the water leaks down the A-pillar with the
door open, seal the encapsulation at the windshield.
